We have heard many horror stories of people being quoted very low prices for motorhome hire, only to find that they get charged for damage or for using consumables during their trip.
These charges are often not explained before the hire is agreed, and money is then taken out of the deposit.
With the rise in popularity of motorhome holidays, there are many agencies popping up who offer unbeatable hire prices.
This looks great on the surface but often customers are left short-changed when they try to get back their deposit.
Things to check before hiring a motorhome:
Is there a charge for mileage?
Always find out if you will need to pay extra for mileage. Here at Lowland Motorhome Hire your first 1000 miles are free. 10p per mile is charged for miles over 1000 miles per hire. Please note this excludes E.U. travel.
Will you be charged for using items such as Gas, bedding, toilet rolls etc?
Lowland’s prices are all inclusive. Use as much gas etc as you need. If you need extra bedding let us know and we will provide this free of charge. Use our plates, cups, etc. We even provide tea and coffee! Check what’s included on our prices page.
Where is the pick up / drop off point?
A lot of motorhome hire agencies have a network of private owners. You may need to travel to the owner’s property to collect your vehicle. This can be an inconvenience and can work out costly in terms of time and travel costs.
Lowland Motorhome Hire is located near Edinburgh City Bypass and is on 2 main bus routes into the city. We offer FREE car parking – you can leave you car with us while you enjoy your holiday.
Are there any admin fees?
Again, there are many stories of money being deducted from people’s deposits for ‘admin fees’ or ‘photocopying charges’. Lowland won’t charge you any extra admin fees. Please check our Terms & Conditions before hiring for details. We reserve the right to charge for damage and/or cleaning fee, but we are up front about these and we will always do our best to be fair.
